You don't need to rewire your home in order to install outdoor motion-activated lighting. The Floodlight Motion Sensor is a kit that includes outdoor floodlights, which are triggered by a weather-resistant motion sensor that runs on two AA batteries (sold separately), so it can be placed anywhere on your property. When this motion sensor is activated, it sends an RF signal to turn on the outdoor floodlights, so you'll know instantly if a prowler is on your property or if guests have arrived.
Photocell Triggers Lights Automatically at Dusk
The outdoor flood lights will need to be wired in; mounting hardware and a set of wire nuts are included. Thanks to a built-in photocell, you can set the motion sensor to deliver its signal only when it's dark out to save electricity. Once activated, the triggered lights will stay on for the length of time you specify.
Motion Sensor Features Extra Protection
The included motion sensor features the Creep Zone® Advantage: Unlike most motion sensors, which allow an area directly beneath them to go undetected, this sensor looks down in addition to out for maximum protection. Additional features include sensitivity control and pulse count technology, which reduces false sensing from wind and rain for maximum reliability.
Additional Motion-Sensor Lights Available
This system is also available with an included indoor lamp module: The single motion sensor will trigger both the floodlight and the plug-in lamp module, which also emits an audible alarm tone. The Motion Sensor Indoor Alert System comes with the plug-in module but not the floodlights. A system is also available with two included screw-in light sockets: The single motion sensor will trigger both indoor lights to turn on when triggered, even if they're located in opposite ends of the house. The Heath-Zenith Floodlight Motion Sensor is also available in a white finish.
