Increase the versatility of an INSTEON home automation network by adding the I/O Linc - INSTEON Doorbell and Telephone Ring Alert Kit. Never again will you have to miss out on an important phone call or visitor because you didn't hear the ringer or doorbell. Use this kit to notify you of a visitor or phone call when working (or playing) remotely in the backyard or in the garage. This kit is also great for when youre listening to music and cant hear the phone or doorbell. Its also perfect for those that have a difficult time hearing certain frequencies. The doorbell and ring detector will initiate an INSTEON signal when a guest arrives and presses the doorbell or if you receive a telephone call. Using INSTEON devices such as Dimmers and Switches, Wire-in/Outlet Modules, and/or Plug-in Modules, you can program an individual or group of lights and devices to turn on as an indicator. Up to two doorbells and/or one phone line can be connected to the detector. Adding an additional I/O Linc to this kit will allow for two distinct INSTEON commands to be sent from separate door bells or from a door bell and a telephone.

How to Connect and Use
Wire the doorbell transformer and/or incoming telephone line to the corresponding input in the doorbell and phone ring detector module. Then connect the doorbell and/or telephone outputs on the doorbell and phone ring detector to the input of the I/O Linc - INSTEON Low Voltage / Contact Closure Interface (1 In / 1 Out) and plug in the I/O Linc. Wired connections can be made using the included 20 Foot 2 Conductor, 22-Gauge/AWG Interconnect Wire. Once wiring is complete, simply link the I/O Linc to a remote INSTEON controlled device which can act as an alert for a doorbell or phone call. For example, you can have a light or group of lights turn on as a visual indicator or activate a custom event with HouseLinc 2 - INSTEON Desktop Software.
